Joe Weinstock is co-president of Spoke Studios, a creative content company that operates under the banner of Wheelhouse Entertainment, the media enterprise forged in 2018 by producer and media entrepreneur Brent Montgomery. Creating engaging, provocative and talent-driven content across a variety of platforms, Spoke Studios explores unique points of view with programming that spotlights extraordinary worlds, dynamic characters and human ingenuity.
Prior to Spoke Studios, Weinstock served as senior vice president of development for Leftfield Pictures, where he developed a broad range of series and projects including Blue Collar Backers and Carspotting for Discovery; The Book of John Gray for OWN; Tackle My Ride for NFL Network and lauded special Billy the Kid: New Evidence for National Geographic, in addition to a series for FYI and Animal Planet, both set to air in 2018.
Before joining Leftfield Pictures in 2015, Weinstock was senior director of development for Discovery Channel and executive produced such shows as Blue Grass Boys, Porter Ridge and Games of Stones. He was also vice president of production & development at Gurney Productions where he served as co-executive for Duck Dynasty for A&E, American Diggers and Auction Hunters for Spike (now Paramount Network), Haunted Collector and Hollywood Treasure for Syfy and American Guns for Discovery, among others. Weinstock previously spent five years at Spike TV where he rose from assistant to senior director of original series, overseeing a slate of shows including Bar Rescue, Deadliest Warrior, Pros vs. Joes, DEA, 1000 Ways to Die, World’s Most Amazing Videos, MXC and Manswers. Having earned his juris doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Norman, Oklahoma, he began his entertainment career in 2005 in Los Angeles in the business and legal affairs department at Comedy Central. Prior to that, Weinstock was a trial attorney in Tulsa, in addition to teaching Speech Communication at Oklahoma State University.
